Neurotoxins
What are Neurotoxins?
Neurotoxins also commonly known as Botox. Neurotoxins are designed to "freeze" muscles. It works on wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. These are known as dynamic wrinkles and are often called expression lines. Most common areas treated are frown lines (in between eyes), crows feet (around the eyes), and horizontal forehead lines. Neurotoxins can also serve as a treatment for wrinkles in the neck and lower face. Other treatments include Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and injections for TMJ (teeth grinding) and migraines.
Where are neurotoxins injected?
The three most common areas neurotoxins can be used are between the brows (frown lines), crows feet (around the eyes), and forehead lines (horizontal). Neurotoxins can also serve as a treatment for wrinkles in your lower face all the way down to your neck. Neurotoxins are also used to help with migraines, TMJ (teeth grinding) and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
How long does it last?
Each treatment typically lasts on average 3-4 months. For lasting results, a treatment is recommended every 3 months. CONSISTENCY IS KEY! If treatments are stopped those dynamic wrinkles will gradually start to reappear.
How quickly will results take?
This is dependent on which neurotoxin a client selects for the treatment. Some clients may start to results as early as 3 days post treatment, whereas others may take 5-7 days to start seeing results. All of the neurotoxins take 14 days to fully settle.
Pre-care for Neurotoxin treatment?
Do not take aspirin, NSAIDS, niacin, fish oil or vitamin E 72 hrs prior to scheduled treatment unless medically necessary. Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24-48 hours pre and post treatment. This helps minimize bleeding and bruising.
